Article Marketing: I made sales and so can you! I used this title specifically because I wanted you to know that it can be done, and not just by the gurus that you hear about online but by me and you. I did it, I made sales, I made money and so can you.

Sometimes you just need to know that there is one person, like you that has actually made something work. You may not be a single mom like me, nor lost your husband to death, but we each have our own story. The ending is the same. We want to make it online so we can: stay home with our family, buy a new car, move, travel, on and on you can fill in the blank with your own reasons.

I danced about the internet market for two years, dipping my financial fingers in and out, going from one scheme to the next. I was getting desperate, to the point of; this has to work, or I am going back to work crunch time.

I found article marketing. I took action and went ahead full throttle, and I began to make sales. How exciting that is I cannot express. I want to share some of the things I learned with you. There are steps in everything we do, and if you learn them and implement them then you too can prosper from article marketing.

The first thing you need to do is learn about keyword research. What is it? Why is it important and how to use it well. Most people that are new to the internet business world do not understand the full concept behind keywords. We shall be discussing the long tail keyword or the keyword phrase. Long tail keywords use 2 or more words.

There are many keyword search tools out there, find one that you like and learn how to use it. I use the Google keyword tool and Wordtracker. Let us pick a niche say, Harley Davidson Motorcycles. It is widely known and appreciated.It is a very competitive niche, but then that can be a good thing.

Now type in Harley Davidson and look at the results that come up. There are over 4 million daily searches for this keyword. But look down the list and find keywords that have around 1000 searches per month. Take that keyword to Google Search engine and type it into the search box with quotes. Quotes give you the exact number of times the keyword is found exactly in the order. You want to find competition that is
below 10,000 competing pages.

If you find those two defining rules; competing pages below 10,000 and searches over 1000, then you have found an excellent word.

Research for Harley Davidson, excellent words

If you use any of the above words in your article you have the chance of getting the amount of traffic to them that is shown. How amazing is that? Just looking at the last one, Screaming eagle Harley Davidson, you can see that there are 5400 people a
month searching for that particular term. If you used that keyword and came to your page and you only sold a $50.00 product to 5% of them that would be a total of
$13,500.
